Clinical Lead for the Ealing, Hounslow and Kingston diabetic eye screening programme
(2012-2016),he worked with other Trusts, local commissioners and national organisations including Public Health England to develop novel care pathways for over 60,000 patients. As
Medical Retina Audit lead
(2012-2016), he showcased effective audits at departmental, Trust management board and national audit meetings.
In March 2016, he was appointed as Clinical Lead for Audit and Effectiveness for Moorfields. He encourages and directs audit activity across the Trust and seeks to enable Moorfields clinical outcomes to influence and lead best practice across the world.
As Chairman of the London Inflammatory Ocular Network
and as a key individual in collaborative work with other major units managing patients with complex inflammatory eye diseases, Mr Addison has been actively involved in sharing best practice and protocols for managing these patients, particularly in the implementation of novel therapies.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to eye care throughout his career, Mr Addison received NHS Clinical Excellence Awards for the last four competitively run years: 2017 - 2021.. These are an ongoing and prestigious award for the best doctors in the UK.
